About the Artist, Lisa M. Cliff


Lisa M. Cliff was born and raised in Columbus, OH. She is a self taught artist and has been creating all her life. Her favorite mediums are acrylic and pastels paintings, using rich colors intertwined with subtle symbolism, Lisa creates vibrant images from the heart where every painting speaks a different story.Lisa also enjoys using pointillism techniques for added definition to her images which adds to her distinctive style. Taking her use of pointillism to another level, Lisa recently has delved into the mixed media arena using common household items such as buttons, in her work. Lisa says "The use of everyday practical but colorful "buttons" has been a natural progression and a wonderful way for me to view color with fresh eyes and
renewed excitement."       

Over the years Lisa had participated in many area art exhibits however, for the last 18 years or so Lisa had taken a hiatus from the public art scene while she devoted most of her time and effort toward professional business pursuits and the building of Columbus, OH based, "Glory Foods" where Lisa was VP of Sales. All the while Lisa never stopped creating, producing art quietly behind the scenes and a few years ago she began showing publically again, participating in several local exhibits including various King Art Complex group showings, The Columbus Art's Festival, Homeport Gallery as well as the One Sun Gallery of New Orleans. On a leap of faith, instead of returning to the corporate arena Lisa is now pursuing her passion for art fulltime; Lisa also holds a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Wilberforce University

Another one of Lisa's passions is writing poetry and in 2012 she released her first book of her original art and poetry, "An Umbrella in Case of Rain, Art and Poetry for the Soul- Volume One. This full size coffee table book features several of Lisa's inspirational poems paired with full color vibrant images, is filled with positive energy, meant to uplift the human spirit.
